Hey Andrew-

Well said.
I've heard so many stories about various teaching methods of some of 'the greats' that sound downright traumatic to me. Of course I've also heard of directors using some of these same methods to coerce a performance out of an actor. Doesn't seem like the straightest line between two points to me.
Of course, criticism is crucial. Nobody learns from a teacher who tells everybody that they're great.
But demoralization and debasement are something else entirely.
I, for one, can attest to the validity of your methods and the respect you have for your students.
I hope things are going well with your NorCal/SoCal commuting. Have you developed multiple personality disorder yet?
I'm still hoping to make it back to your class.
Take care,
Steven
